CORE and Klimor ensure timely reopening with record-breaking service
The John H. Marble Park Recreation Center in Florida officially reopened in February 2025. Together with our customer Klimor, we provide a fresh and sustainable climate in the newly designed recreation center. And thanks to our fast service, the center reopened on time.
About Klimor
Klimor is a leading supplier of standard and highly specialized HVACR equipment. The scope of Klimor’s production includes, among others: air conditioning, heating and ventilation units in their standard, hygienic, indoor swimming pool and maritime versions, air handling units with heat recovery and heating-cooling sets. The company was established in 1967 in Poland.
Renovation of the John H. Marble Park Recreation Center: Facts and challenges
The brand new 27,000-square-foot John H. Marble Park Recreation Center in Manatee County, Florida, serves the Sarasota Florida Metropolitan Area. After a period of closure and renovation it reopened in February 2025. It includes a gymnasium, fitness center, three multipurpose rooms and is surrounded by pools, outdoor fitness areas and walking paths to enjoy leisure time in an active and healthy way.
The recreation center serves thousands of residents through memberships, programs and camps. The challenge was to maintain a comfortable, healthy and sustainable indoor climate over a large area despite intensive use.
The solution: Ventilation system with heat recovery and CORE heat exchanger
To achieve this, a ventilation system was installed in the building using Klimor America’s EVO-S modular commercial air handling unit. This is perfect for large air volumes. Two high-performance CORE-X-series cross flow heat exchangers ensure efficient heat recovery within the system.
The heat recovery module with the CORE heat exchangers efficiently recovers sensible and latent energy from the facility, promoting year-round indoor air quality for the benefit of employees and guests, while maintaining low energy consumption.
Last-minute service by CORE prevents recreation center delay
But shortly before the opening of the recreation center, there was an unexpected damage to the ventilation system. The reopening was suddenly on the brink of collapse. Klimor asked CORE to deliver two cross-flow heat exchangers at short notice to enable the reopening.
We quickly turned around the urgent order during the holidays and were able to deliver the heat exchangers in only a few days. Thanks to the good cooperation with Klimor we could prevent a delay in the reopening.
